What would Easter be without a colorful box of PEEPS? It’s become the marker of the season and when you see those cute little marshmallow bunnies and chicks in stores, you know spring is here. I’ve got five Easter baskets to fill this year, which means I’ll be investing in several PEEPS items to fill the baskets of my kiddos in ages ranging from 12 to 3 years old. And leading up to Easter, we usually create a fun craft or do an activity together as a family and this year, I’ve decided to incorporate the little treats into a craft. My kiddos and I got our hands dirty and created a fun PEEPS Play Dough that is not only fun to play with, but also edible!
- PEEPS Marshmallow Bunnies
- oil (coconut works best, but any will do)
- food coloring (optional)
To start, we tossed five PEEPS Marshmallow Bunnies into a bowl.
Then we added three tablespoons of cornstarch.
And one and a half tablespoons of oil.
Next we microwaved it all for about 30 seconds. And then stirred it all together until combined.
From here we added in food coloring for brighter dough. And if necessary, we added more cornstarch, and kneaded it all together until it was an even consistency.
PEEPS Play Dough is fun for kids of all ages (and even this grown up!), plus if you don’t mind a little sugar rush, it’s perfectly safe for your toddler to explore with and taste or eat. And if you’re having guests over for the Easter holiday, this if a fun make ahead gift you can put together for the kiddos to play with.
