With Winter break coming up for my children, I’m looking for a few warm lunch ideas that I can make at home. In the winter, I prefer to give my kids wholesome warm lunches rather than the usual sandwiches & fruit or veggie. Between playing outside in the chilly desert air & with Christmas on the horizon, warming up during lunch with a hearty meal is comforting. As a work from home mom, warm lunches aren’t exactly my forte as I don’t have much time to devote to them, which is why we love, love, love Marie Callender’s pot pies. When I discovered they now make a family sized version, I was so thrilled I bought a few! #PotPiePlease #CollectiveBias
Keeping these pot pies on hand is one of my highly recommended meal tips & tricks. They keep in the freezer & are ready whenever you are. Plus, they taste like Grandma made them. With homemade gravy mixed with vegetables and all white-meat chicken, in a golden, perfectly flaky crust that’s made from scratch, I can’t help but have visions of my childhood winters at Grandma’s playing Manhunt outside with the neighborhood kids & then retreating home for a warm-you-up-from-the-insides lunch. They’re so great to have on hand for those busy days when you forget all about dinner; especially during the holidays when you somehow seem to crave home cooked meals & golden flaky pie crusts more often that usual.
What can I really say here? I love the way these people do pie. Every Marie Callender’s pot pie shares and delivers the true sense of homemade. Having a hearty, simple, wholesome, & incredibly delicious meal on hand whenever I need it is sort of a no-brainer, friends. Head down to your local Walmart this week to pick up yours.
