Get Organized with the Whitney English Day Designer // GIVEAWAY

By now you all know how absolutely obsessed I am with organization, stationery, & my yearly planners. Recently, I contacted Whitney English & asked if she would allow me the honor of introducing my readers to her gorgeous Day Designers, or DDs for short. For list makers like me, the DD is the perfect daily planner to keep track of your appointments, schedules, daily meals, & much, much more. I am one thousand percent in love with my DD & I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to share mine with all of you.

I am a busy Mama, blogger, columnist, & weekly contributor over at SoFawned.com, so it’s safe to say my days are sort of all over the place. There are some days where all I do is clean & fold laundry while there are other days that I have a Google Hangout meeting with a sponsor, a mandatory Twitter party, two deadlines to meet, & my normal Mama duties on top of it all. Thanks to my lovely & perfect Day Designer, I can keep track of all of those commitments, duties, chores, & more, all in one beautifully designed planner. 
As a blogger, I like to use my monthly spread to plan out my blog posts for the month. This is where I can see my entire month’s work at a glance. I work as a Netflix Stream Team member, a weekly contributor for SoFawned.com, I have my own blog where I post daily, & often times have sponsored posts with specific deadlines that I need to meet. Having it all at a quick glance makes it easy on me to be able to commit to additional sponsors that month or to tell a sponsor when their post will be going live on my site. Having this monthly spread also allows me to plan ahead & prepare for the entire month & brainstorm ideas for future months.

On my daily pages, I can get really in depth with how I need to plan my day to maximize my productivity. Here is where I can list the top three things I need to accomplish that day; I can write down any meetings, Twitter parties, appointments, or deadlines I may have; I can write out my trusty to do list; there is even a space reserved for dinner that day. I especially enjoy the, “Daily Gratitude,” box. I’m a huge believer in gratitude being the key to happiness. It’s a great reminder to slow down for a few minutes each evening to reflect on what you were grateful for that day. As you can see, mine range from silly things like an ice cold beer to bigger things like my kids & step-kids.

For planner newbies, my advice is always to think of ways to make your planner work for you & your life. Make your planner work for you & if there is something you need or that it’s lacking, make it yourself! I created my own insert using sticky tab labels, a hole punch, & a pair of scissors. This allowed me to be able to clip in my daily cleaning calendar for easy reference. Even better, I can move it with me each day since it’s removable. As you can see, I enjoy decorating my planner with stickers, quotes, colorful pens/markers, & washi tape. This helps me to channel my creativity while also activating areas in my brain to help me remember things that are important. My planner time is my me time & I enjoy making it into a media diary as well as a practical agenda to keep track of my life. It’s so much more than just a planner to me. It’s where I design my days, track milestones, & look back on fondly in later years.

Whitney recently release some limited edition DDs for the upcoming 2015 year & now I have all the jealousy over everyone who is getting theirs. This floral one is stunning & makes me wish I had waited just so I could have featured this lovely!

    I admit that I am more of a disc bound diva but this planner is intriguing me. I really want to like the Erin Condren but I am not sure it’s for me. This one looks very interesting!

    LOVE your planner with washi tape to decorate, gorgeous and very inspiring! I just got my 2015 Day Designer last week and it looks like my favorite fine tip pen will bleed through the pages, so I’m on the hunt for what type of pen works…what pen(s) do you recommend? Thanks in advance!!

    How did you attach the cleaning schedule in to your planner? What did you use? I know this post is old but I love the le pen brand of pens and have been using them with the day designer for years!! Love them, they come in all kinds of pretty colors! I love all kinds of printables if anyone has any other ones that work with the day designer I would love them! Thanks so much!

      Sara, I used an Erin Condren coil clip to attach it in, but you can find loads of tutorials on YouTube for making your own coil clips!

          I actually use the Design Love Planner 🙂 http://www.thedesignloveco.com/ – I was thrilled when they moved to a 6 month version of the planner!

    Hi Holly!
    I just found this post on pinterest, hopefully you see it! I see you put washi tape on the ends of your pages and the design looks so pretty when the planner is closed (your last picture). I just did it on one page but it took me SO long to just do the one. Any advice on how you did yours, did it take you a long time?

      It takes some time the first few pages until you get the hang of it & then it goes by quickly. You really do need patience to do them all! Ha!
