SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO
I believe it was Elvis who said that the key to happiness consists of three things: someone to love, something to do, & something to look forward to. My people to love are many & I love them fiercely. My something(s) to do are several & give me a sense of self-worth. My something to look forward to? Now that is something that I work on to ensure we have in our family. A birthday, a holiday, a small trip.
Currently, we are looking forward to our summer trip to Michigan. I cannot wait to feel the lake breeze on my face, smell the smoky campfires, hear the giggles of cousins playing, feel my heart swell as my grandparents get to love on their great grandchildren. Life in my hometown is simpler. People love one another & look out for one another. Life moves a little slower & people aren’t in any rush. The best nightclubs they have to offer are stories & chats by a bon fire until late in the night or until the babies make it too difficult to stay awake any longer.
This is Jacob’s first trip to Michigan, Collin’s fourth, & Evelyn’s second. Here are some things I am looking forward to that we experienced in past trips:
Lake Huron & all it has to offer.
