Tomorrow (October 15th) is Infant Loss Awareness Day. For me, this is a special day because it helps the loss community bring awareness to infant/pregnancy loss.
Typically, baby loss isn’t something people talk about. It’s often swept under the rug or ignored. It’s too awful to think about or maybe you just don’t know what to say to someone who has lost a baby. Everyone is different, but the majority of mother’s I have come into contact with want to talk. Need to talk. It’s part of healing. And for me, it’s a way of ensuring Liam lives on in some way. To bring awareness. To help educate people.
Tomorrow night, I encourage you to light a candle with the thousands of mothers who will light theirs to honor their lost babies. Reach out to someone you know who has lost. Or make a small donation to the March of Dimes.
