Fall is here & in full swing at the Sosa place. We did our apple picking already. I have been baking every apple recipe under the sun, including my apple butter. I hosted a fall swap. We are gearing up for Collin’s birthday. I decorated our mantle. Even the boys’ room has some Halloween up in there. We even had our first cold over here. By we, I mean Collin. But we all know that when a little boy is sick, that Mama is the one who gets nothing done. Especially when said little boy wants only to, “Mama? I sit on your lap?” & watch monster truck documentaries on Netflix in his skeleton jammas because they make him, “I feel better.”
The house wreaks of fall smells. In the best possible way. Apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, cedar. When I’m not baking something, I turn on my Scentsy warmers & pop in a fall themed wax tart. My mother always had seasonal candles or wax tarts melting around the house for each holiday. I knew it was fall when I came home from school & could smell pumpkin & spices wafting throughout the house. I want that for my family. It makes me feel warm & happy.
The only downside to fall (aside from Collin’s cold), is that my crocheting finger was sliced open when I was making apple butter. If you crochet, you know that this spot is right where the yarn lies & feeds into your rows. So, that sucks. I’m hoping it heals quickly because girlfriend has lots of stuff to finish before Christmas.
